Retirement of four Health Care Workers 

On the 2nd of June 2017 Harare Central witnessed the retirement of four Health Care Workers who served the hospital diligently for a total number of 126 years.

Three of the retirees were from the Nursing Division and consisted of two Sisters in charge (Ms. Velled Siziba Mlagami and Ms. Margaret Mushonga) and one Nurse Aide (Ms. Nellie Chagwiza). The fourth cadre was from operations department, a driver (Mr. Makasiwell Bumhira).These were the centre of attraction as fellow Health workers were represented by the crowd which was witnessing the event.

Relatives and friends of the retirees were seen in their numbers as they watched and listened to the success stories which were being showered to the retirees. One could not stop ululating for the retirees as they received all the praises from their Divisional Heads, words such as punctual, humble, honest, and loyal were heard as the Divisional Heads were relating as to how retirees had performed during their time at work.

Furthermore, Mr. Rwodzi mentioned that the retirees managed to overcome many challenges which would have hindered them to provide valuable and meaningful service delivery. He emphasized that the Human Resource office managed to train these retirees in preparation for exit from employment.

The Principal Nursing Tutor added that they were proud as Nursing division to part with these retirees who managed to serve the people at this institution for years. She also urged the remaining Health workers to emulate the good work done by the retirees during their time at work.
